It begins "Among the rain and lights I saw the figure 5 in gold on a red fire truck". The Figure 5 in Gold is one of the icons of American modernism and now hangs in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. The face and band of our watch is an adaptation of Demuth's artwork.
